The Birthday Projects are a series of situations and installations by artist Lee Simmons. Taking place every other year to co-inside with the artists birthday, ‘The Birthday Projects’ are a series of occurrences and installations made in public spaces.
This years event will include remnants from the birthday projects of 2011, 2009, 2007, and preparatory work for ‘Red Line’, a new work which is due to take place in Brazil on December 20th 2013.
Photographs and residue of helium balloons, powder paint, glitter and flowers aggregate to form both a party and retrospective of the artists work. This years party will start at 7pm, Tuesday 10th December and the exhibition/party remnants will open the following day, 12-6pm.
Music will be provided by DJ’s Tom Richards, Nadine Martin, and Robin Allison

On Thursday 14th December, Vibe will be unveiling a showcase of talented photographers for the exhibition, ’A Moment in Time.’ The exhibition will be held from Thursday 14th – Tuesday 19th November.
Selected from an overwhelming amount of submissions, the Artists were chosen for their unique originality and adaptability into the theme we had devised.
A Moment in Time’ is based around the idea of a fleeting moment. A rare and unforeseen glimpse of things past, captured at a precise moment and steaming from a variety emotions. We are privileged to be able to share this wonderful collection of images representing various artistic interpretations and individual visions.
The exhibition features figurative documentary as well as the power of the gaze. The participating artists are from all kinds of backgrounds and skill sets presenting us with their wide range of images that reflect the gallery’s ethos.
Last night The Vibe Gallery saw the start of The Magma Group: The Bermondsey Arts Festival with the fantastic opening night Private View. It was a great night and the gallery was bursting. We saw the amazing performances from Balabustah playing Gypsy Jazz, Klezmer and Eastern European music, and The London Euphonia Orchestra. Here are some pictures from the night:

Black Dog Night: Back to Black was the most poignant and inspiring evening hosted by Vibe Gallery on the 30th of August showcasing live acts, anecdotes and creative talents, with both educational and comedic elements. The art exhibition coinciding with the event, was from the 29th of August until the 3rd of September.
Bastard Assignments are an events collective based in South East London who create contemporary cross-arts events featuring the most exciting up and coming artists in Music, Film and Dance from the area.
Following on from our intimate evening in a converted truck theatre in Deptford, – which featured new works from Composers, Choreographers and Film-makers from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and beyond – we bring you Bastard Assignments @ The Vibe Gallery – an immersive, site specific event exploring this exciting new basement gallery space.
Vibe Gallery is currently accepting submissions from artists to show in the upcoming “A Point of View” exhibition in partnership with Southwark Arts Forum. Anything from painting, photography, video, performance, sculpture, etc can be submitted and dimensions are unrestricted – as long as you can get it through the door, we can show it!
“A Point of View” will run over three weeks and will be divided up by three private views to kick off each week. The show will run from the 26th July to the 15th August and the fee to exhibit your work is £25 per artist.
You may submit up to five images of which we will select up to three pieces of work to exhibit. Artists are responsible for both delivering their work and collecting the work at the end of the exhibition. You must be a SAF Full Member to participate.
